Where is our wisdom?

Where is our wisdom?
It was after reading Matthew 11  Jesus is quoted “you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to the little children”. Looking at wisdom and children drew me to a place to reflect on, where is our wisdom?  Often I hear people saying we do not have respect for members of our community anymore; police, vicar’s! doctors, teachers etc. But where are the people we invest out trust in because they have wisdom?
The wise people we lent our saving to gamble them into financial tricks nobody could explain then made the saving disappeared and then after a roll on the drum we were left with less than nothing. The trick, savings grew, shrank, disappeared and a debt appeared it grew negatively. Wisdom? 
The wise politicians here in the UK worked hard at making an agreement between the north and south parts of the Uk . Hours poured over devolution powers, cross boarder voting, and the examination of historical documents. We heard from politicians, professors and heads of multi nationals.   Then a fox pops its head out of a field and all the wisdom of the country retreats. Wisdom?
We then bring together the wise Euro politicians and bankers to pull together an agreement how to bring a small country out of poverty. The Euro elite spend endless amounts of time and money agreeing on a package of measures then the most important bank in the world thinks is a disaster.   The result is poverty, rioting on the streets and its government in disarray. Wisdom? 
I wonder what would happen if we brought together a group of children perhaps 13 year olds to bring their wisdom to these situations. Wisdom?

Tokens of Trust

Tokens of Trust by Rowan Williams I have been deeply jolted to the importance of the role of trust in my life and the cost when trust has been missing. Many years ago I spent a long time at the top of a cliff roped and secured being encouraged to abseil over the edge to the bottom a number of feet below. No matter how much my highly competent friend encouraged me to trust him and the equipment, I could not. During the same period of my life it was my job to service the fire service turntable ladders, which meant climbing 100 feet to the top of them. Why did we come?

Why did we come? You know the old story for people of certain age you, get to the top of the stairs and could not remember why you went up the stairs. Well here is another observation i was walking through Heathrow Terminal 5 the other day passing the oh so many shops the only one being in my price range was WH Smith . it struck me do people really get the cheapest seats on a plan and then think oh I need a bag its only £500 or that shirt will be handy its only £200? I digress, as we made our way past the many shops Ruth observes that it does not seem obvious that we are waiting for a plane. Terminal 5 happens to be a shopping centre (precinct as we used to call them) were you just happen, if you remember, to leave in a plan.
