Dear All - A reflection of 2019 and on into 2020.
The view from our house, a little different from the Tyburn Road |
Our first 18 months in South Africa ended with a trip to the
UK in November when we had a chance to see many of our supporters. We had some
very encouraging feedback from our Saturday Meet & Greet. It was
encouraging to see so many people (around 70 we think). We were very grateful
for the prayer on the day and we felt supported and blessed.
Thank you for your prayers - impossible without them |
The first meeting of our Accountability Group was important
to us, a group of 6 people who know us well and are keen supporters in what we
are doing. Through all the things we have done in the Kingdom, church or
secular, we have been accountable to someone. We do not see ourselves as lone
cowboy and cowgirl! So in this season of our life we felt it was right to form
an Accountability group, to share issues such as personal finance, personal
issues, our spiritual life, hopes and concerns. We wanted a place for people
who care for us, and the work we are doing, to have the opportunity to ask the
difficult questions.

As we move into 2020
there are many changes ahead. The situation
South Africa finds itself in is a difficult one with the issues of corruption,
Land Reform or Land Restitution, high unemployment and violence, as well as
immigration issues. On the Mercy Air Farm there will be many practical issues alongside
helping to grow the spiritual life of our organisation, finishing the Well and
keeping the monkeys of the new garden beds! One thing that has changed on our return to South Africa someone committed to giving us some money and we have fitted satellite WiFi. This means we can talk to the family friends any time without the data running out - a real improvement to our lives! Thank You.

In Mozambique they have had a peaceful
election but issues are not yet settled. In all the areas we serve there are
issues of poverty and hunger that are very real and the need to educate a growing
church is vital.
Of course 18 months in Africa without elephants is impossible! |
Erin and I already have a number of mission trips booked to
Mozambique which we are very excited about and looking forward to working,
sharing and learning from our partner organisations.
We have really enjoyed our visitors this year, who came and experienced a little of life here with us, and we look forward to others in 2020.Please keep us in your prayers and we would love to hear from
you also.
Yours in Christ Nigel and Erin
